Selling my 1959 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider Veloce AR1495F04042, engine AR1315_31202. I purchased the car in 1996 from the previous owner near Pittsburgh. After purchasing the car I had the carburetors rebuilt as the throttle shafts were worn as well as the bottom end was rebuilt with new pistons and liners, I had the 1400 kit installed. The head was not rebuilt. When purchased the car the mileage was 81,305 and now the car has 94,408. The car was mostly driven on Sunday drives. I did drive the car from Ohio to Kansas City when the Alfa Romeo Convention was there and the car ran flawlessly averaging 33 miles to the gallon and took third place in the concours.

The previous owner did do some mild vintage racing with the car at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix so there is roll bar mounting holes under the front driver seat as well as behind the seats. This was done nicely and did not tear up the car.

The seats were totally redone using Re-Original foam and material. Seats are correct color and piping along with have the ‘coin catcher’ pouches. Frames were in excellent condition, sand blasted and painted prior to recovering. Door panels and kick panels are new from Re-Original as well. Knobs are rose wood but I have correct knobs and choke block off plate. Somewhere in the cars history someone installed a cigarette lighter in the dash that is why there are four knobs instead of three as a Veloce should have on its dash as there is no choke pull. Blaupunkt radio was also rebuilt after I purchased the car and it works well. The car came with the Lucas Flame Thrower driving lights. The ones on the car now are reproductions but I have the originals that were on the car when I purchased it in 1996. I have a good chrome with white plastic horn ring that I will include as well. Additionally I have the Pirelli Cinturato P3 tires that came on the car. I installed Michilen tires as to not wear out the Pirellis.

The limited research I have done shows that AR1495F04042 was made on May 10, 1958 and was sold to Hoffman Motor Car Co. on July 4, 1958 but is titled as a 1959. Car was originally white so somewhere along its history someone painted it red. The paint is still good there is some minor bubbles at the bottom of the doors. Additionally its it life someone chrome plated the air filter housing, dip stick tube as well as the water trumpet pipe. I do have front and rear bumper overriders but they would need to be rechromed. The car has the correct Hela rear license plate light as well as correct paddle style window cranks. Car comes with jack, and the original jack points are solid. This is not a fully restored car but a very good show and driver car. This car could easily be restored if someone wanted to take it to that level and it has not been molested with during its life.

I am asking $70,000 for the car but willing to negotiate. Car is located in North East Ohio.

I can take additional photos on request. Robert
