With the introduction of the 1.3-litre Giulietta Sprint in 1954, Alfa Romeo established the 'small car, big performance' formula which would characterise its finest offerings from then on. The original Sprint Coupé was soon joined by Berlina (saloon) and Spider (open) versions, and then in 1957 came the first of the new 101-Series cars. The Giulietta's success surprised even Alfa themselves: production targets were revised upwards and to satisfy demands for increased performance, upgraded 'Veloce' versions of the Sprint and Spider were introduced. The combination of a rev-happy engine, fine-handling, responsive chassis and excellent brakes make the Giulietta Sprint a driver's car par excellence and explains why these stylish Alfas continue to attract the discerning enthusiast today.

Alfa Romeo's Centro Documentazione Automobilismo Storico has confirmed that this car is a genuine Giulietta Sprint Veloce, produced in October 1960 and sold in January 1961 via Motoritalia SA in Lima, Peru. The original colour was Blue Iseo. Although it is no longer a matching numbers car, the engine appears to be a genuine Veloce unit. Benefiting from a partial restoration completed earlier this year, the car is finished in red with black interior and is described as in generally good condition. Accompanying documentation consists of sundry parts invoices, Italian Libretto and Certificato di Proprieta.
