Offered in need of a comprehensive restoration with a huge amount of bodywork needed. This genuine Sprint Veloce was supplied new to Neckarsulm in Germany before being UK registered in 1965. With original buff log book, current V5C and a few older invoices. Most importantly it comes with a Alfa Romeo Classiche Certifico Di Origine that confirms its provenance. 07701084692.
Chassis number 1493 23505 on plate and 1493 E 23505 stamped on bulkhead
Engine number 0010600291
Body number 6513293
Built on the 8th June 1960 and destined for Neckarsulm in Germany
Confirmed by Alfa Romeo as retaining its original engine
Imported to the UK in 1964 and registered to its first UK owner in 1965. This gentleman was Andrew Sundberg, an American who was a Rhodes scholar at New College Oxford. He ran for the Presidency of the United States in 1988. The car changed ownership several times before being laid up in 1976.
An interesting feature of the car is the additional built in front lights and sports seats so perhaps it did see some light track use before arriving in the UK? The car has previously been metallic grey and yellow/black according to the old buff log book.
The bodywork is in a poor state and a major restoration is required.
