(Lotars words describing the car on EBay) 1965 Alfa Romeo 1600 Sprint Speciale #AR381259 Engine #00121*01267 Blue plate California car, barn stored since 1983. 34,998 miles. Clear title. Body is straight and complete with one re-spray.

Body: minor dings and a few small scrapes (one in left side rocker). Door bottom skins have rust. Door sills are clean. Small dollar sized rust spot in floor. Rockers and pan are clean. Left rear corner has slight damage and also needs redoing.

Car needs to be stripped and repainted. Some chrome needs replating. Doors both shut well without sagging. Aluminum hood and trunk lid are fine. Glass is fine with exception of windshield which has some wiper marks that need buffing out.

Interior: mostly original and in fine condition. New dash and rear valance. Both seats refoamed. Headliner redyed white. Nice door cards, carpet and original mats.

Mechanical: Complete 14 month mechanical rebuild by Santo's shop in Northridge. Stock engine w/ polished crank, transmission and all brakes. Recored radiator, new wiper motor, rebuilt speedo, restored gas tank, rebuilt carbs, etc.

Approx. 5 miles on rebuild. Engine bay stripped and repainted stock Bianco Spino before re-installation of engine/trans.

Needs: Other than cosmetic work it is missing the front grill badge, rear deck badge, Perspex shield and glove box lock. All S/S script and bertone emblems are present. The car runs fantastic.

Head will need retorquing in 500 miles. Gas gauge was working but now it's not.

Deposit of $1K through Paypal at end of auction and the balance through direct wire transfer or cash within 5 business days. No exceptions. Cashier's checks will be accepted but they must clear my bank first before I release the vehicle.

There are only 140 known examples of the S/S left in the world. If you have been actively searching for a clean one requiring little extra work I suggest you come see this car.

Most of these Alfas have been restored and salted away in prestigious collections. As of late, basket cases with mismatched parts have sold for $20K.

This one is all original, running well and ready to occupy your spare time. There is no doubt this is one of the sexiest cars ever made and is not cheap.
