The SS was carefully stripped and disassembled, then the parts were preserved and stored away. After disassembly the car was scraped, media blasted and the doors and trunk lid were dipped. The naked shell received an extensive "Panel beaters" restoration, with all signs of rust and damage removed and replaced with new hand formed sheetmetal or NOS panels. Several lapped joints from an earlier Philadelphia fender bender were replaced with hammer- welded- edgebutted seams. What emerged from the welding studio was a rust free and straight Sprint Speciale body. The SS was carefully stripped and disassembled, then the parts were preserved and stored away. When the car was completely assembled it was set back down on the ground and a careful wheel alignment and adjustment of ride height was completed. At this time several different style wheels were fitted and accessed. The final set up, which is now mounted on the car, is 15" x 5 1/2" Campiagnolo reproduction wheels with Vredestine Sprint Classic Tires. The wheels are finished with a chrome hub cover with an Alfa Logo and Chrome acorn lug nuts. The Headliner and Interior work was completed by Andy Smith at Larry's Upholstery in Albany Oregon.
