This 1959 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider Veloce was completed on December 3, 1958 and delivered new to Hoffman Motor Car Company of New York. It was acquired approximately nine years ago by the seller, who commissioned a subsequent refurbishment that included a repaint in gray, a reupholstered red interior, and overhauls of the numbers-matching 1.4L twin-cam inline-four and four-speed manual transmission. Features include a black soft top, dual Weber carburetors, and 15” Ruote Borrani steel wheels with chrome hubcaps. This Spider Veloce is being offered with records and photos from the refurbishment, correspondence from the Alfa Romeo Centro Documentazione, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

Finished from the factory in Graphite Gray, the Pininfarina-designed bodywork was reportedly repainted during the refurbishment by Bill Gillham following repairs of the rocker panels. The car features a Haartz black soft top as well as a chrome driver’s side-view mirror.

Silver-painted 15” Ruote Borrani steel wheels feature chrome hubcaps and are mounted with 155-width Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drums.

The cabin was refreshed with reupholstered red leather seats and replacement matching carpets. Equipment includes black rubber Alfa Romeo-branded mats, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, and lap belts.

A two-spoke steering wheel with a chrome horn ring sits ahead of a body-color metal dash housing Alfa Romeo and Veglia-branded instrumentation that includes a 140-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and a combination gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 31k miles, around 300 of which have been added during current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 1.4-liter twin-cam inline-four was overhauled by Denny Pillar of Newberg, Oregon in 2014 and features twin Weber DC03 carburetors. The four-speed manual transmission and rear end are also said to have been rebuilt.

This 1959 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider Veloce 750F was produced on December 3, 1958, and was delivered new to the Hoffman Motor Car Company of New York City. A refurbishment of the car under previous ownership included a repaint in gray over a reupholstered red leather interior in addition to overhauls of its 1.4L twin-cam inline-four and four-speed manual transmission. Features include a black convertible top, dual Weber carburetors, and 15” Ruote Borrani steel wheels. The car was acquired by the seller on BaT in April 2022, and maintenance in the time since has included servicing and synchronizing the carburetors, adjusting the clutch pressure plate, changing the oil and coolant, bleeding the brakes, and replacing the headlamps, speedometer cable, and rearview mirror glass. This Veloce 750F is now offered with refurbishment records and photos, the seller’s service records, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The car was factory-finished in Graphite Gray, and the Pininfarina-designed body was repainted under previous ownership subsequent to repair of the rocker panels. A black Haartz soft top has been fitted, and brightwork includes bumpers with guards, a driver-side mirror, rocker-panel moldings, and external hood and trunk hinges. Vintage Carello headlamps with replacement bulbs were installed in April 2022, and the trunk lid alignment was adjusted in June 2022.

Vented 15” Ruote Borrani steel wheels are finished in silver, wear branded chrome hubcaps, and are mounted with 155-width Vredestein Sprint Classic tires showing 2015 date codes. A matching spare is stowed behind the seats. Braking is provided by four-wheel drums. The brake master cylinder was replaced in March 2022, and the system was bled under current ownership.

The cockpit features reupholstered red leather seats, red door panels, and replacement carpets overlaid with branded black rubber mats. Equipment includes an Ipra heater, an open glovebox, and lap belts. The dash-mounted rearview mirror glass was replaced in October 2022.

A two-spoke steering wheel with a chrome horn ring fronts a body-color metal dash with a black pad, chrome trim, and a trio of Veglia instruments consisting of a Veloce-specific 8k-rpm tachometer with an inset oil-pressure gauge as well as a 140-mph speedometer and a combination gauge for oil temperature, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 31k miles, approximately 25 of which were driven by the seller. True mileage is unknown. The turn signal was repaired and the speedometer cable was replaced in May 2022.

The 1.4L twin-cam inline-four was overhauled in 2014 and features an electronic RML distributor with a Bosch blue ignition coil and dual Weber 40DC03 carburetors that were serviced and synchronized under current ownership. Maintenance performed in 2022 included fitting a spin-on oil filter housing and changing the coolant and oil.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox that is said to have been rebuilt along with the rear end. The clutch pressure plate was adjusted under current ownership.
