Derived from the Giulietta Sprint Veloce, the Sprint Speciale featured the four-cylinder twin cam 1300cc Alfa engine aspirated by two twin-choke carburetors, with its striking body designed by Franco Scaglione for Bertone. The car had an extremely low coefficient of drag which contributed to a top speed of almost 200km/h, a remarkable performance considering its modest engine size. Production of the Giulietta SS was limited to just 1366 cars made. According to Alfa Romeo this car was sold the 1st of August 1960 in Pistoia, and was originally "Bianca Gardenia". The French history of this car, as reported by its owner, does not lack originality. It belonged to a Parisian artist who, while traveling in the south of France, had mechanical problems with the car. For reasons that we do not know, he left the car in the South, and from the garage where the car was lying, the current owner acquired the car. Although not equipped with its original 1300cc engine, the car was painted in the early 1980s and seems to be in good condition, the odometer displaying just 71,790 kms. It has disc brakes front (with Campagnolo calipers) and has five rare Borrani wheels (reference RW3344) with the butterfly fly nuts marked Alfa Romeo. It is also equipped with a special Conti exhaust. White in colour with beige interior in imitation leather, in its descriptive original form, it has a nice patina. The car has been stored the last ten years, so that it will need some servicing before restarting the car. In any case, it is an interesting opportunity to acquire this rare and desirable model, a really masterful stroke of the design pen and very effective sports car.
Please note that an administrative mistake mentions a serial number 1012800162 instead of 1012000162 on the title.
